A re-engineered version of the D-Max chassis serves as the foundation for the electric pickup truck, which is Isuzu's first electric vehicle to start production.
Notable Points
- Available in two different trim levels.
- Produces a total of 188 horsepower and 325 Newton-meters of torque.
- Carries a payload of one tonne and has a towing capability of 3.5 tonnes.
Over a year after presenting the concept version of its D-Max pickup truck, the all-electric version of the vehicle has finally been shown by the Japanese automaker. During the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, the D-Max EV, which was Isuzu's first electric vehicle to be put into production, was shown to the public for presentation. A redesigned version of the D-Max platform that is now capable of housing an electric drivetrain is the foundation upon which the D-Max EV is designed. There will be two different trim levels available for the new Isuzu D-Max EV, and it will be offered in both Extended Cab and Double Cab versions. The electric vehicle is first planned to go on sale in the United Kingdom, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in February of 2026.
The D-Max electric vehicle (EV) keeps the majority of the stylistic elements that are present in its internal combustion engine (ICE) equivalent. These include the headlights, the massive grille with twin slats, and the taillamps. The dimensions of the electric vehicle are the same as those of the internal combustion engine counterpart. There is a nine-inch infotainment system and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster in the electric car's cabin, which is more or less identical to the arrangement of the inside of the internal combustion engine vehicle. Heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, front and back parking sensors, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, and a sound system with up to eight speakers are some of the additional options that are available. Additionally, the car is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system suite (ADAS), which offers an additional layer of protection.

When it comes to payload, the all-electric pickup truck has a capacity of more than one tonne, and its capacity to pull a trailer is 3.5 tons. The car is equipped with a De-Dion rear suspension arrangement, which does away with the conventional leaf spring setup. According to Isuzu, this design results in improved handling. The truck also comes equipped with full-time four-wheel drive, Eco Mode, and four different degrees of regenerative braking. The approach and departure angles for off-road driving are 30.5 degrees and 24.2 degrees, respectively. The water wading capability spans up to 600 millimeters, and the ground clearance is 210 millimeters.
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the D-Max EV is outfitted with a dual-motor configuration system. In all, the configuration generates 188 horsepower (58 horsepower in the front and 130 horsepower in the rear) and 325 Nm of torque (108 Nm in the front and 217 Nm in the rear). From 0 to 100 kilometers per hour, the electric vehicle can achieve high speeds of up to 129 kilometers per hour in about 10.1 seconds. The WLTP range of the electric vehicle is 263 kilometers, and it is powered by a lithium-ion battery that has a capacity of 66.9 kWh. The D-Max is now available for purchase in the Indian market by Isuzu in both the basic and V-Cross configurations. At this moment, Isuzu has not made any announcements on the D-Max electric vehicle's arrival in India; nevertheless, the business may choose to make it available for purchase in India at any point during the next year.
